MARC and the Millionaires - band info & FAQ
MARC and the MILLIONAIRES are a three piece Anglo-German indie rock band currently based in Frankfurt, Germany.

They comprise of two Englishmen,
Captain Marc on vocals and guitar, and
Chris Tucker on vocals and bass, and are completed by drummer
Max Volume.
Their musical style combines elements of the American Punkpop scene with typical English Indie Pop.
Marc wrote and recorded the first songs for the band in May 2007, but the group was not formed until Chris joined in December for the first live performance headlining at
Frankfurt Nachtleben.
Max finally completed the trio in April 2008.
The band list The Ramones and The Beatles as their main influences, but the sound is modern and very polished.
The live shows are highly regarded for their energetic and edgy performances and their choice of unusual cover songs such as Madonna's "Like A Prayer" or the seminal "It's Raining Men".
They are also known for occaisonal acoustic performances, whereby the word "unplugged" is taken to its logical conclusion, as the band then plays without microphones or amplifiers of any kind. "Our voices and our acoustic guitars are loud enough for a medium sized club. It gives the punters the chance to hear what we really sound like, without buckets of technology to help us. And it's fun. But the main reason we do it is to show off. We
can play without mics and amps, because we're
good. Most bands
can't do it, because they're
not!"
And the reason for the thought provoking band name? "It's just a nickname we got, probably from hanging out, looking sharp and giving it the large. Anyway, we decided it was just a good name, easy to remember, and like you said provocative."
The band are currently recording their debut album: "How To Marry A Millionaire".
